Notary

In-House and Mobile Notary

Notary Public – An official appointed by the Secretary of State to screen and witness signers of important documents.

Many types of documents are notarized by Notary Publics every day. These documents come from many sources – lenders, escrow companies, DMV, bank and financial institutions, city/state/federal/foreign government agencies, law firms, private citizens, private sector, and many others.

In addition, many documents are required by law to be notarized, such as Grant Deeds, in order to become effective. Other documents are notarized by certain institutions before transactions can take place, such as a Spousal Waiver for liquidating a 401K, for instance.

Almost any document can be notarized in California. Wills, however, are generally not notarized but rather witnessed. Please refer to legal counsel when preparing wills and other estate documents.

The following are some of the types of documents that need to be notarized.
